We’ve all had tough times in our life. The death of a family member, the loss of a job, or the testing of our convictions.

The good news is that, with God, we never have to go through these difficult journeys alone.

Below, read some of our favorite Bible verses for strength. We’re confident that they’ll help you get through anything.

1.) Psalm 27:1

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”

This verse teaches us about how we should handle one of the most overwhelming feelings—fear. Fear is a natural instinct that comes when we don’t know what to expect next.

We may feel that there is no one there to catch us if we fall, abandoned and alone, or that things will never get better.

However, this is one of our favorite Bible verses for strength because it reminds us that we have God on our side. He is the ultimate protector and comforter, and will always be there to both listen and support us.

Remember, when times are tough, that God has a plan, and that He will show us the way to walk through that plan.

2.) Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

This verse is a reminder of where we get our strength—from Christ Himself.

Oftentimes, we can feel as though we can only rely on ourselves when the hard times come. We may feel afraid that others will see us as a burden. We may also feel that we are standing alone, that no one is listening, and that everything we stand up for, we advocate for with no one supporting us.

This reminds us that God is always on our side and that whenever we feel weak, we can always call on him. This is also a wonderful verse to help us remember the incredible power of prayer.

When you pray with friends, remember that you are sharing Christ’s strength with others.

3.) 1 Corinthians 10:13

“God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

When times get tough, we may be more susceptible to give into temptation. We may even feel as if God has abandoned us.

This verse reminds us that God never gives us more than He knows we can handle, and that he always gives you a way out of sin. He will help us prove our inner strength to ourselves, with faith as the guiding light.
