Mel Gibson is making his directorial comeback “Hacksaw Ridge”. This movie is about Desmond Doss, the first conscientious objector in U.S. history to be awarded the Medal of Honor and saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun.

The Wall Street Journal reports that once the credits started rolling, Mel Gibson received a 10-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival.

Hacksaw Ridge stars Andrew Garfield opens on Nov 4, 2016.
